Starr Insurance Companies today announced the appointment of Nick Lawrence as chief underwriting officer for the liabilities group. Nick is based in our London, United Kingdom office and is responsible for all London market business including US Desk and additionally growth and expansion in the European marketplace where local offices have been established.

“Nick has many years of experience in progressive leadership roles in the liability market. He has worked in the Lloyds environment and has been the class underwriter at a couple of syndicates during the last 17 years. He joins us at a time when we are expanding both geographically and product capabilities,” stated Colin Buchanan, head of international casualty. Colin continues, “his experience will benefit us in Europe and developing new channels and relationships. He will be an asset in growing our general liability, construction, energy and environmental impairment business.”
